NOW AVAILABLE: KALYDECO is the first treatment to target the underlying cause of cystic fibrosis.
Foundation Care was selected to be one of few specialty pharmacies to provide KALYDECO (ivacaftor) to patients with cystic fibrosis nationwide.
About KALYDECO™ (ivacaftor)
KALYDECO is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of cystic fibrosis (CF) in patients age 6 years and older who have a certain mutation in their CF gene called the G551D mutation.
KALYDECO is not for use in people with CF due to other mutations in the CF gene. It is not effective in CF patients with two copies of the F508del mutation (F508del/F508del) in the CF gene.
It is not known if KALYDECO is safe and effective in children under 6 years of age.

Pharmacy & Reimbursement Services
As one of the few pharmacies providing KALYDECO, our team will be providing your patients with the medicinal expertise and support they need. Our pharmacists are experts in the treatment of Cystic Fibrosis. They are available Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm CST, to fill your patients’ prescriptions and 24 X 7 to assist with any questions you may have.
In addition, our REIMBURSEMENT TEAM is prepared to assist you in obtaining coverage for the medication as efficiently as possible. Because KALYDECO is new to the market, additional documentation beyond the prescription might often be needed:
Documentation of the patient’s genotype (with the G551D mutation)
Clinical Notes and/or Letter of Medical Necessity
Prior Authorization (PA)
Foundation Care’s reimbursement team is here to help! We will conduct the benefits investigation, obtain and/or complete documentation as needed, and assist with PA and appeals as indicated. We will work closely with you to get the patient(s) the medication they need.
If you have any questions about this medication or coverage issues, please contact a patient service representative at (314) 291-1122 or toll free (877) 291-1122.
